Dean’s distinctive designs have earned dozens of awards, and his articles appear regularly in magazines such as This Old House, Washington Spaces, and Women's Week. He has been featured in a number of Washington, D.C. and national publications and TV programs, and has served on expert panels of organizations ranging from the American Institute of Architects and Harvard University, to local historic preservation boards.
